Weekly Reflection: Strange Creature

This weekly reflection is for the week of February 7th.

Long ago, I drew this image in Adobe Photoshop. I have no idea what version it was, but it was still essentially the same program.

This image was a test for me. It was the first time that I used the pen tool to create beautiful curved lines. Previously, I drew all of my curves by hand using a tablet. The tablet is amazing, but no hands on earth could be so steady as to create perfect curves.

I have no idea what this is. It is some sort of dolphin-like creature. There is no story behind it.

I also used layers, so many layers. Dodge and burn are also used here, extensively. For the white part of the dolphin, I added a slate blue and smudged it, rather than burned the white. I was going for a very blue picture. What do you think?

There is a lot to improve upon, naturally. But it is only through practice that we can improve.
