This is a walk-through of my clipping mask assignment for next Monday.
Here is the original image.
I used quick mask on the shirt. Then, I inverted the selection so that the shirt was selected.
I added a solid fill to the selection.
I brought in an image of a stylized tree. It was in it's own layer, above the layer with the shirt fill. I then right clicked on the tree layer and selected clipping mask from the fly-out menu.
I used two leaf brushes, one with maple leaves and one with semi-transparent leaves, and spread them around on the shirt. I burned the edges of the shirt to give it some depth. I used a somewhat fuzzy brush to add black edges to the collar, sleeves, and bottom of the shirt (but it is hard to see here).
And that's my clipping mask.
